CHRIST HAS COME
  1. THERE IS NOW A NEW WAY TO RELATE TO GOD
  2. LIGHT HAS NOW ENTERED THE DARKNESS OF OUR WORLD.
  3. MERCY IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT

God’s Mercy : 1) God forgiving the guilty and holding back the consequences  2) God giving what we need, even though we feel undeserving to ask

I TIMOTHY 1:12-17
V12-13 blasphemer, persecutor, insolent opponent Even in this he 13 received mercy.
V14  HIS GRACE OVERFLOWS FOR US, NOT BECAUSE OF US.
V15 CHRIST’S COMING IS INCARNATIONAL, INDISPUTABLE, HUMBLING. What do I mean?
THE LESS YOU THINK YOU NEED JESUS, THE MORE YOU NEED JESUS.
VS16 The purpose of God’s mercy toward Paul was to demonstrate God’s patience toward us.

WHAT ARE WE TO DO WITH THIS MERCY?
Mercy shouldn’t prompt greater sin, but greater obedience.
Mercy shouldn’t fuel endless rebellion, but endless worship. VS17
Mercy shouldn’t stir the flesh, but the heart.
