Devotion is to commit through exceeding love and loyalty to something or someone.
Psalm 1:1 (ESV) Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
Devotion hinges on: Disassociation
Ephesians 4:22-24 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Psalm 1:2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

1 John 5:3 for this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

Psalm 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Psalm 1:4-5 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
The chaff are defined by lack of purpose
What in the chaff is keeping us from further devotion?
Psalm 1:6 for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Our devotion in impossible without first praising Christ for His devotion to us.
