I KINGS 18:16-18 YOU BRING DIFFICULTY ON YOURSELF AND OTHERS WHEN YOU ABANDON GOD’S WAYS.
 
I KINGS 18:19-25
 
Elijah says “you go first”  I KINGS 18:26-29
 
Elijah’s turn: He soaked his offering in water, filled the trench around it 12 jars – no tricks here, no smoke and mirrors. Prophet steps forward and prays, Short prayer…God’s not impressed by eloquence. I KINGS 18:36-37
 
Then, I KINGS 18:38-40
 
1. THIS WAS A VICTORY THAT GOD’S PEOPLE NEEDED TO SEE. Vs 19-21, 30-32 It was an opportunity for all of God’s people to see what God can do.
 
2. IDOLS ALWAYS TAKE MORE THAN THEY GIVE. leading to limping and blood itself…our very lives. Vs 26-29

3. THE VICTORY WAS NOT ELIJAH’S, BUT GOD’S.. V37-40. It was God wanting to turn their hearts back and return to the Lord. THIS IS A STORY OF WHAT GOD WILL DO TO WIN BACK HIS PEOPLE!
