The Practice of Generosity // 2 Corinthians 9

Spiritual disciplines are things we can do that put us right in front of God.

Generosity: 
The joyful use of all God has entrusted to us - resources, time, influence - for God’s glory and the good of others. 

2 Corinthians 9:5

RESISTANT - Refuse to give

OBLIGATED - Reluctant to give

RESPONSIBLE - Manage to give  

EMBRACING - Preferring to give

CELEBRATING -  Rejoice to give

2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-11 

1. GOD GIVES (v. 8-11)
   
   
2. God loves a cheerful giver (v. 6-7)
   
        
   The early church was strikingly different from the culture around it in this way - the pagan society was stingy with its money and promiscuous with its body. A pagan gave nobody their money and practically gave everybody their body. And the Christians came along and gave practically nobody their body and they gave practically everybody their money. ― Timothy Keller
